Care in the Small Things

I love this quote.  For one, it's simply true for those of us with Type 1 Diabetes - raising a low blood sugar is an emergency and a juice box is a common option for treatment.   Even more so, however, this quote reminds me that there are so many different challenges people face and just as many ways to nurture ourselves through those challenges.  Though we may not know the specifics of another's journey or why they are making the choices they make, we can still…

Compassionate Limits

I recently saw this posted on Sharon Salzberg's Facebook page. She is an inspiring Buddhist teacher who is renowned for her work on loving kindness (metta) practices. It's a beautiful reminder of the importance and wisdom of boundaries. We need them in order to be well and to serve ourselves and others. So when we set those limits, aim to bring kindness and love to that experience.
